seeds of faith

Have you ever really thought about the miracle of a seed and how it can make your faith grow? It takes seeds of faith to believe that one little measly seed can produce anything at all because when we look upon a seed left alone, the seed will produce nothing. Yet if we bury the seed in fertile soil, give it water and sunlight we can watch before our eyes as it comes to life and grow strong enough to break through soil and even cracks in concrete. I love how when the little seedlings sprout, they usually have two leaves which to me resemble two little arms reaching up towards heaven praising the Lord. “Ah I’m alive”.

We can learn so much about sowing good seeds into the garden of life and seeing the goodness multiply as blessings from God. That's the message I hear every year I begin my garden. I never stop feeling like I’m in a state of awe at how much food one little seed can produce. Until I started gardening at age 25, I didn’t realize how much I took for granted by  having the convenience to getting my food at the grocery store

Is this something we take for granted or did God give us this miracle that happens before our eyes to give us faith? Seeds of faith are the kind of faith that multiples and can bless us with the things in life we hope for. But It takes confidence to believe that something great can come from something so small. We have the choice to take action and give the seeds enough attention daily with love and care to see it come to life. God is the father of life and when we stand alone we can do nothing.

Sowing Seeds of Faith

Every year in early spring gardeners start by sowing seeds into the soil, but the soil needs to be rich in nutrition, making sure that the soil is fertile enough to provide everything the plants need for strength. In the same way we have the choice to look to God and trust him as our provider to give us everything we need to make it through times of hardship and uncertainty. It feels scary when we are in a dark place (like the seed underground) but as we learn from the bible and pray to God, I believe that he pours out his Holy Spirit power upon us and waters our seed. Soon our seed of faith takes root and grows bigger and stronger. As we bloom into something beautiful and we produce fruit and therefore produce more seeds.

I remember one time when I was jogging downhill and all of a sudden I heard A loud crack noise in my neck. The next morning I was in severe pain from my neck all the way down my left arm. The pain was so intense I couldn’t sit or walk. The only thing I could do to try to get some relief was to lay flat on a bed and try to hold my head to a certain position to feel any kind of relief at all. When I got X-rays the doctors told me I had bone spurs crushing my spinal cord and because they were pinching my spinal cord that it was too risky to operate.

For nine months I read healing scriptures and I would walk over to my bedroom window and raise the bible and pray those healing scriptures to God as I stood on his promises. I would make melodies to bible verses and sing them to God over and over again and by God’s grace I eventually was healed and set free. God gave me seeds of faith that helped me get through many other times of suffering and hardships. So I am thankful for God showing me that the impossible is possible.

what does the bible say about sowing seeds

So, what does the bible say about sowing seeds?

In Matthew 17:20 we read: 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. When we are going through the unexpected we have a choice to believe that the impossible is possible, but it’s not always easy. Sometimes we feel God doesn’t care about what we are going through, but who are we to guess if God loves us and cares about our trials?

We may face times of doubt and only see the darkness because we grow impatient and perhaps because we stumble and fall. We might question if we’re strong enough to get past the obstacles in front of us, but somehow God makes a way if we just keep letting him  water the seeds we have sown.

bible verse seeds planted

Here are a few bible verses about seeds planted to increase your faith.

2 Corinthians 9:10

Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;

2 Corinthians 9:6
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Proverbs 11:18
The wicked earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward.

No matter what you are going through, keep sowing seeds of faith and watch what God can do. Pray and keep on inviting Jesus into your heart and let the Holy Spirit water your seeds. God bless you

Do You ever eat when things bother you?

What power have you given to the food that does not serve you? What ways do you use food? As a stress reliever? To combat boredom? To escape? To numb?

Now it's time to diminish the power of food. Look at the emotion you are trying to fulfill or escape from with food. Are you still struggling with something that happened to you as a child or in a previous relationship?

What are ACTIONS you can do in your life to DIRECTLY address the emotion you really need to feel or heal? Healing means looking at it for what it is and just say hey, I'm going to "crush it" and move on.

It's time to build confidence that you can overcome these emotions and that the behaviors of the past can be in the past! Today you can begin your new future!

Today you can crush sugar cravings and junk food addiction ONE STEP AT A TIME.

A Painting -Artwork Inspired By The 12 Step Recovery Program

In Romans 15: 13 We read, May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

So many of us are suffering from pain There are so many types of circumstances that we have walked through in life that is causing us to suffer right now.  Physical pain is one of them. Perhaps we have suffered a major accident and lost a limb or perhaps we have been having some kind of joint pain, head aches, or maybe we have a child or parent that is sick and we are suffering with them. What then can we hold onto to, to get us through these very difficult times?

For myself I have suffered the pains of abuse, rejection, physical pain, and grieving the loss of a parent, a brother and some of my dearest and closest friends. These are pains that we suffer from things of the past.

I need to pray for acceptance, courage and trust,  In fact, this is EVERYDAY of my life. I NEED HOPE. I need to believe that i can get better and that hardships can turn around.

I have no hope in myself or the things in my life. I am nothing without hope. God makes a way when we put our hope in Him. It is in the waiting and watching that we have hope. It is when I take my eyes off of myself and my troubles that I can trust in the Power of God to make a way that I never knew possible.

May God restore a right spirit within me. May your joy in life today be in the constant flourishing of hope, because God wants what is best for you more than what we can ever imagine. God's love is our hope for restoration of our physical, mental and spiritual strength. One drop of hope can fill our day with the power of the Holy Spirit.

STEP 2 of the 12 STEP RECOVERY PROGRAM

“Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.”

To your health!

WHY I PAINT INSPIRATION WALL ART

The Weaving Of My Passions - Staying Current Artist Statement

Picture
Abstract realist painter Renee Dumont was born in Massachusetts and has quickly become a full time, best selling artist. In addition to the inspiring paintings of  illustrations she creates, Renee has painted for both private and public collectors as well as many corporations across the U.S. and Canada.

As Renee likes to put it she is  "completely unencumbered by formal instruction" as she is a self taught painter and her art reflects her vibrant and energetic spirit. She’s kind of a  wild-haired artist type; she's an organic eat’n health nut that loves connecting her art and her lifestyle with inspiration. Renee is like the straight forward, fun-loving girl next door.

Renee states, "I painted a lot as a kid and was always looking to make those coloring books look like Picasso paintings.  I suffered much bullying as a little girl and found peace and contentment when consumed in a creative state. At age 11 my Mom brought me to an OverEaters Anonymous meeting and my spirit was moved as I found peace and healing from a poster with a quote that said, "God Doesn't Make Junk". Since then I have been practicing the 12 Steps Program with Christ as my Higher Power and I love being a universal voice of God's Love, healing, and beauty.

"I give credit to that one inspirational poster that happened to be a "Turning Point" for me at the meeting that day". As so, my hope is that my viewers find that kind of an experience with some of my pieces of inspirational wall art.

When I grew into my teens I got interested in fitness and nutrition, as well as  dancing, music and all of the other teenage stuff as my artistic desire grew a lot more serious. At age 19 I decided to go to college to earn a degree in Fine Art. Since 1981 Renee has been a full time artist. Dumont later continued her education with a focus on extended light and color and chooses to hand mix every color on her palette.

Renee states, "The events in my life, my marriage, becoming a Mom,  laughter with people whom I adore, bereavement of those dear to me, meaningful music, poor choices, ongoing challenges and occasional triumphs are all reflected in the paintings I create. The artwork may have nothing to do with the event, but every painting is charged with the emotions as my spirit which I believe is moved by God himself.  I do have a passion for the bible, the history of our land and the current events that seem to affect each of us.

"When people fall in love with my wall art, they sometimes share that It’s like hearing that certain song come on the radio and “Oh Wow” feel right back in a state of mind. There might be times my collectors have found themselves experiencing something personal with a tear of sorrow and joy all mix in at once.  And so I've had thousands of conversations, letters and emails that began with ‘this picture reminds me so much of…"When art ‘clicks’ it triggers an emotional response. If the art can spark smiles and deep feelings of the world we love, places we visited in our imaginations and the types of things that matter most in life.  There’s a real connection between art, artist, and viewer."

"THAT’S why I do what I do, and why I go to the lengths that I go to; people only respond to Passion, Authenticity and The Authority of Experience." For this reason my most recent project of completion was to write and illustrate a book about my life and my journey to wellness, entitled, Fixing My Fattening Life”.  The book tells the story of how the "Grand Weaver" has lead me to become a health coach using both my art, and my knowledge in nutrition and fitness to coach people of all ages who struggle with lifestyle related illnesses, and poor eating habits.

The Light and Hope of Lighthouses

Don't you just LOVE  lighthouses?

I have been inspired to write about my thoughts and research on these inspiring and magnificent pieces of art.

As Summer is just about to approach us we seem to enjoy the landmarks of  Lighthouses so much more at this time of year. These historical structures have been used for many years for safety in the dark and erie waters. Lighthouses alerted sailors that their ship was approaching shore. On a rocky coastline or harbor promontory, the lighthouse was fair warning. It was a beam of comfort to the ocean’s travelers who had endured many difficult months at sea.

Even though they are no longer used, the legacy of lighthouses is a popular one. Their history makes them iconic images and powerful symbols. This is what inspired me to create this painting.

After a long and often difficult trip at sea, sailors felt joy and hope at the first sight of a lighthouse. The lighthouse meant that they would soon set foot on shore, and for some travelers, they would be home. A lighthouse might have been the only light in a violent storm, which gave them the encouragement to hang on just a little while longer to those who saw it. Today, lighthouses can inspire feelings of hope and salvation during turbulent times.

The historical role of lighthouses was to guide and protect sailors as they approached the shore. In the same manner God’s light will shine upon our path as we strive to navigate the a world filled with uncertainty and struggles. The beacon led them away from rocky and dangerous cliffs towards safer waters and God;s light will also lead us to safety. The lighthouses would warn the ships that land was near when the skies were too dark and stormy to see the coast.

Today, we know that  lighthouses are no longer needed for the safety of sea travelers, but their past roles as guides and protectors still reassure those of us who are navigating difficult times. Unlike the lighthouses we will always have the Light of God to help protect and comfort our lives. That is what inspired me to paint an inspiring painting with a quote to feed our souls. I then decided to design and create a custom Lighthouse IPhone Case as well as many other products that will soon be available to buy at my Zazzle Store.  CLICK HERE TO VISIT MY STORE OF INSPIRING ART  FOR YOU TODAY
