Portraits of Time in the Blackstone River Valley
I am excited to share this next addition to my Blackstone River Valley Green Way Series, which I just finished this morning. I have been exploring the National Corridor here in the Blackstone River Valley since the year 2000. This was a fun to develop and I chose to paint this seen mainly because captivated by the old wooden damn. I will be having a contest soon, to "Name That Painting".
Ed (my husband) and I were traveling along the river and as we passed over a bridge I noticed it had a high concrete wall on both sides. I asked him to pull over to go for a walk as I was very curious to see what was sitting behind the walls. I climbed up a small rock and take a peak and there it was a hidden gem worth painting.
The damn was surrounded by those beautiful lavender colored flowers we see growing in early spring in the wetlands here in Massachusetts This has been my longest series of paintings and perhaps will be ongoing until I am no longer here to paint.
